Notice of a Special General Meeting

A Special General Meeting of Members will be held at Te Awhina Marae, 133 Pah Street, Motueka, on Saturday 17th July 2010 at 10.30am.

Registrations will be from 10am.  This meeting will be followed by a light lunch at 12.30pm.

Business

1) Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations

To consider the following resolutions

"that support be and is hereby given to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Crown which Involves the Crown making an ex-gratia payment to NRAIT that approximates the ex gratia payment for the past rental losses for NRAIT's perpetually leased lands for the period between 01 January 1977 and 01 January 1998 that NRAIT may have received had it been included in settlement of the commitment made in schedule 5 of the Maori Reserve Land Amendment Act 1997".

"that support be and is hereby given to continue negotiating with the Crown on all other outstanding historical and contemporary treaty matters".

The trustees recommend members support the resolutions.

Scholarships/Grants

Please note that Education Grants and Scholarships have now closed for 2010.

We will call for applications for 2011 early in the New Year.

Treaty Negotiations - Update

The Trust is currently engaged with the Crown Representatives in relation to negotiating an ex-gratia agreement on historical losses suffered as a result of missing out on Maori Reserve Lease Amendments.  The negotiations are continuing and an update will be provided at the SGM.
