Please note:  the three Undergraduate scholarships available for 2014 have all been awarded.  Tertiary grants are available to be applied for on a monthly basis.

Please note: Payment of any award granted to a member of the Trust who is completing their studies on a part time basis will be subject to a pro rata payment of the award based on the number of papers being undertaken in each year.

 

  • Supreme Scholarship

    Award

    • $7,000 per annum for a maximum of 3 years
    • Maximum of one per annum per member.

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to 2nd year tertiary students or higher in any field of study who are registered with the Trust and endorsed by a NRAIT kaumatua
    • Requires A grade average (grades to be reviewed by Trustees annually)
    • Award paid out annually, 50% upon receipt of fees receipt, 50% on completion of each year’s study subject to satisfying all eligibility criteria.

     

    Other Requirements

    • Provision of a 1,500 word essay – “How can your chosen area of study contribute back to NRAIT”
    • Candidates who meet initial short-listing criteria will be interviewed by representative/s of NRAIT
    • Requirement of presentation to NRAIT AGM during course of study
    • Expectation of participation in NRAIT alumni during and after study
    • Expectation of a bonding agreement to be agreed at discretion of NRAIT.

    • B average required (grades to be reviewed by Trustees annually)

    Award

    • Individual awards up to $1,000 paid out upon the furnishing of results and receipt of proof of fees payment.

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to tertiary students in any field of study who are registered with the Trust and endorsed by a NRAIT kaumatua
    • Preference reserved for higher achieving applicants
    • Award paid out annually, 50% upon receipt of fees receipt, 50% on completion of each year’s study subject to satisfying all eligibility criteria.

     

    Other Requirements

    • Provision of a 500 word statement – “Describe your connection to NRAIT”
    • Allocation forfeited if not claimed within 12 months of award being made
    • Expectation of attendance at local hui.

    Award

    • Course fees paid up to a maximum award of $1,000 paid out upon the furnishing of course acceptance and receipt of  fees receipt.

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to adult members who are registered with the Trust and endorsed by a NRAIT kaumatua
    • One award per member per annum – maximum total of three awards per member.

     

    Other Requirements

    • Provision of a 200 word statement – “Describe your connection to NRAIT”.

    Award

    • Individual NCEA exam fees paid up to a maximum award of $500

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to secondary school students who are registered with the Trust and endorsed by a NRAIT kaumatua.

    • Paid upon receipt of fees invoice.

  • NRAIT Kip McGrath Programme

    Award

    • Up to a maximum of $500, towards a 10 week NCEA tutor support programme
    • One award per member per annum.

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to Year 11, 12, 13 secondary school students who are:
      • registered with the Trust and endorsed by a NRAIT kaumatua
      • Studying NCEA level 1, 2 or 3.

     

    Other Requirements

    • Priority will be given to students who are struggling with NCEA study
    • Whanau and recipients will be required to make themselves available for interviews and NRAIT promotional activity following the course.

  • Individual Sports And Cultural Grant

    Award

    • Individual awards up to $500.

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to members who are registered with the Trust and endorsed by a NRAIT kaumatua
    • Confirmation from a national organisation of selection to a national team for an international or national fixture or event.

     

    Other Requirements

    • Paid upon receipt of confirmation of representation at a national level or event.
