To assist our owners in participating in educational opportunities and achieving success at all levels, we have simplified our funding process and increased accessibility to education funds. Whether you want to be a mechanic, a teacher, a banker, a hairdresser or to start your own business, our education programme is aimed at all owners who want to learn.  

Owners residing or studying in Aotearoa are eligible to apply.

Please note: Payment of any award granted to a member of the Trust who is completing their studies on a part time basis will be subject to a pro rata payment of the award based on the number of papers/study being undertaken in each year.

 

  • Supreme Scholarship

    Award

    • $8,000 per annum
    • Maximum of one scholarship awarded per annum

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to registered members of NRAIT enrolled with a New Zealand tertiary institute or training provider
    • Have achieved a B+ grade average for taught awards
    • Award paid out annually, 50% upon award of scholarship, 50% on completion of year’s study subject to satisfying all eligibility criteria

     

    Other Requirements

    • Applicants are required to describe their involvement in NRAIT kaupapa over the past 12 months
    • Applicants are required to explain how NRAIT can balance its economic, social and cultural objectives
    • Candidates who meet initial short-listing criteria will be interviewed by representative/s of NRAIT
    • Requirement of presentation to NRAIT AGM during course of study
    • Expectation of participation in NRAIT alumni during and after study
    • Expectation of a bonding agreement to be agreed at discretion of NRAIT.

  • Postgraduate Scholarship

    Award

    • $5,000 per annum
    • Maximum of 2 scholarships awarded per annum

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to students studying Honours, Postgraduate Certificates or Diplomas, Graduate Certificates or Diplomas or PhD
    • Preference towards STEM and business related studies
    • B+ grade average achievement for taught awards, or confirmation of re-enrolment for a research award
    • Scholarship paid out annually, 50% upon awarding of scholarship, 50% on completion of the year's study subject to satisfying all eligibility criteria

     

    Other Requirements

    • Applicants are required to describe their involvement in NRAIT kaupapa over the past 12 months
    • Requirement of presentation to NRAIT AGM during course of study
    • Expectation of participation in NRAIT alumni during and after study
    • Successful applicants must sign and return a funding agreement before the scholarship is released

  • Tertiary Scholarship

    Award

    • $2,000 per annum
    • Maximum of 6 scholarships awarded per annum

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to tertiary students in any field of study who are registered with the Trust
    • Have achieved a B grade average or equivalent in the previous year of study
    • Award paid out annually, 50% upon receipt of fees receipt, 50% on completion of each year’s study subject to satisfying all eligibility criteria.

     

    Other Requirements

    • Provision
    • Allocation forfeited if not claimed within 12 months of award being made
    • Expectation of attendance at local hui.

  • Education Grant

    Award

    • Course fees paid up to a maximum award of $750 for students whose fees exceed $1,000
    • Course fees paid up to a maximum award of $400 for students whose fees are less than $1,000

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to registered NRAIT members studying Certificates, Diplomas, Bachelor's degrees, trades training, te reo, adult education

  • Primary and Secondary Study Assist Grant

    Award

    • Up to a maximum of $300 per annum
    • One award per member per annum

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to primary and secondary school students who are:
      • Registered NRAIT members
      • Enrolled with a recognised New Zealand training provider

     

    Other Requirements

    • Provision of a current year's receipt of fees paid
    • Whanau and recipients will be required to make themselves available for interviews and NRAIT promotional activity following the course

  • Individual Sports And Cultural Grant

    Award

    • Individual awards up to $500.

     

    Eligibility

    • Open to members who are registered with the Trust and endorsed by a NRAIT kaumatua or Trustee
    • Confirmation from a national organisation of selection to a national team for an international or national fixture or event.

     

    Other Requirements

    • Paid upon receipt of confirmation of representation at a national level or event.
