Healthy homes are important for the health and wellbeing of our families and our communities so we’re working with some key partners to help owners improve the health and dryness of their homes. These benefits are exclusively available to registered NRAIT owners.
Right now we're working on a joint venture initiative with Absolute Energy in Nelson and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA). With combined funding from Absolute Energy, EECA and the Ngati Rarua Atiawa Iwi Trust we are able to offer free ceiling and underfloor home insulation to 10 registered owners of this Trust. To find out if you are eligible for this benefit, see the criteria below.
As funding is limited, we want to ensure this initiative is available to those owners most likely to benefit from home insulation. You may qualify if:
- Your home was built before the year 2000
- You have a community services card, or are eligible for one
- You are at risk of a health issue linked to cold damp housing, such as a respiratory condition
Priority will be given to household owners with children under 17 or people over 65.

To help us gauge the volume of need, we are taking registrations of interest. We will enlist the help of EECA's Warm Up New Zealand application team, to determine where needs are highest.
